Jun Wu

TU Delft

Jun Wu is an associate professor at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. Before joining TU Delft in 2016, he was a Marie Curie postdoc fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, DTU Denmark. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science in 2015 from TU Munich, Germany, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2012 from Beihang University, China. He received the Young Investigator Award from the international Solid Modeling Association in 2021, and Haftka Young Investigator Award from the International Society for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization in 2023. He is on the editorial board of Computer-Aided Design and Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization.

His research focuses on computational design and digital fabrication, with an emphasis on topology optimization (which is sometimes referred to as generative design). In 2023, He was awarded a Vidi grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to further develop his research on Space-time optimization for additive manufacturing.
